Update from the Reunion Committee:

First we would like to thank everyone that has visited the blogsite and also participated in our polls. The information gathered from these polls will be very important to us in determining how the committee proceeds with its plans.
We also what to thank everyone that is sharing our facebook site and the blogsite with fellow classmates. There are over 600 members to the Leto class of 70’ and without your help we could never get the word out to all of them. We’re working our way through the data we have and hopefully do not overlook anyone, but as time goes by people move, change their email addresses and phone numbers. Please continue reaching out to any and all our alumni.

Let me review with you the different ways you can secure a room reservation:

Website: Use www.tampadowntown.embassysuites.com to access the hotel’s website. You can find information on the hotel and the local area there as well. Enter the arrival and departure dates on the right side of the page. Click on the GO button. Once the new page has opened, you should enter the Group/Convention code (shown above) in the space provided in the bottom left portion of the page. Click the CONTINUE button to complete the reservation.

Telephone: You can call the hotel directly at 813-769-8300 (preferred) or call toll free to our central reservations office at 1-800-EMBASSY (362-2779). When the toll free option is used the guest will need to mention what city and state they are calling for.

Private Online Group Page (POG) – recommended They have created a personalized online group web link. You can make reservations for our group with no issue or code needed. The hyperlink is as follows:

Reunion Announcement

The reunion committee is proud to announce that the LHS Class of 70’ 40th Reunion will be held May 28 & 29, 2010. The two day event will start on Friday and will feature a pool side get together at the Embassy Suite in downtown Tampa. Then a very special evening for Saturday’s dinner is planned at the Florida Aquarium in the Channelside District.

Saturday’s evening event promises to be something special. Dinning and dancing with the fishes plus renewing friendships that have endured the test of time. For those folks that are not familiar with the Florida Aquarium you can visit the hyper-link below to see what a special place this is, especially at night.

Rooms at the Embassy Suite will be available for $99+ taxes per night, each of these being Suites. This room rate will be good to LHS Reunion participants’ from May 25th to the 31st. A cooked to order breakfast is included and an evening cocktail party from 5 to 7:30 is extended to each of the facilities guests. Starting at 7:30 we would kick off our evening get together so that’s a party before the party each night. Visit the hyper-link below for more amenities the Embassy Suite offer.

The cost includes both nights at $100 dollars for each person. More information will be provided as we get closer to the event. For now people will be able to make their room reservations with Embassy Suite.

First Committee Meeting

We had a group of fifteen people show up for our first meeting. The when and where issues were discussed and we should have an announcement for everyone by the 1st of November. The one thing I can say is if you are a part of this group "YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS THIS EVENT".
It looks like this will be something special and set a new benchmark for all future get togethers.

My thanks to all the folks that have signed up to the blog site. This is going to make communicating with the masses so much easier. But we want more so I'm asking you to share this site with anyone and everyone you can and ask them to sign in.

Records Update

If you've moved, changed your phone numbers or e-mail address and are interested in updating our records please send the information to my personal e-mail address listed below. We keep these records so the reunion group can stay in touch, we will not share them with anyone unless you have given us permission.

Subscribe for Updates

Howdy folks, I was under a misconception about some rules this blog site offers. I thought that by being a follower that each of you would be notified when we made any new posts. Boy was I wrong and I apologize. As much as I appreciate the first 24 followers to our site I need to ask you come back to the link and subscribe for updates. This will only take a minute of your time and then when I make a new post you'll receive an e-mail letting you know.
It very easy to do, at the top of the blog page you'll see a box inviting you to subscribe. Enter your e-mail address, then you'll receive a confirmation at your e-mail account, at that point all you need to do is activate this feature. The whole process should take less then 60 seconds. I will not have access to these addresses, nor can I see who has signed up to receive updates, all I can see is who the followers are. This is a very safe way for both you and me.
You are some of the first folks aboard and we're depending on each of you to reach out to a fellow classmate and let then know that the LHS 40th Reunion is just around the corner. Thanks again for all your help. Bernard Bailey

Contact Fellow Classmates

I've made an attempt to send out e-mails letting people know about the site. But as time goes by data becomes outdated and I had at least 30% returned as not deliverable. We will need as much help as possible to contact as many classmates as we can. This is where we need every ones help, please share this site with anyone you have contact with that went to school with us. Ask them to join Facebook and add Pam Sisk or myself or both as friends. In their profile if they list Leto as their class their automatically added to the Class of 70 list. I'm listed in the white pages of the Tampa directory and can be found easily, and I can update their information that way. Plus below is my e-mail address, have anyone drop me a line to update our files. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
